The Manson Institute for Leadership Education (MILE) has today launched a freedom society program for youths in Mzimba, which among others aims, at offering a platform to young people to discuss issues that affect their lives.
Executive director for MILE John Nyangulu said the youths, who form the bulk of the population, need to be empowered with relevant knowledge on how democracy works and how they can uplift their lives economically.
Nyangulu said they are also translating important books in policy making, democracy and entrepreneurship into Chichewa to ensure that a lot of youths are conversant with such ideologies.
Anastazia Manda a student from ST Francis Secondary school said the forming of the society is timely as it will also keep young people busy hence preventing them from engaging in immoral behaviours.
