On November 22, 2025, MILE Academy hosted Cheetah Sprint 2025: The Battle of Ideas under the Cheetah Generation Scholars Program, our flagship forum designed to inspire and equip young people to think critically, engage in dialogue, and lead boldly in shaping Malawi’s future in line with Malawi 2063.
The sprint brought together 46 participants, including three teams and an engaged audience from across Malawi. This was more than a debate, it was an intellectual battle, a clash of ideas, and a showcase of leadership. In a tense and electrifying atmosphere, 15 finalists rose to the challenge, engaging in rigorous dialogue and strategic thinking that prepared them as change agents. They showed courage, vision, and boldness, proving that Malawi’s youth can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best minds anywhere in the world.
Finalists confronted three critical motions:
1. Is entrepreneurship for everyone?
2. Are young people doing enough to contribute meaningfully to Malawi 2063?
3. Who is responsible for low youth political involvement, government or young people themselves?
At MILE, we believe debate is more than arguments. It is about creating spaces where young people think critically, argue with evidence, test assumptions, and build solutions. It is about dialogue that inspires transformation, courage to speak truth, wisdom to think systemically, and responsibility to act collaboratively.
We were deeply honored by the presence of Madam Idah Ng’ambi, District Sports Officer, working under the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, representing Guest of Honor Mr. Yamikani Nyalugwe, District Youth Officer. In her inspiring remarks, Madam Ng’ambi commended the finalists for their courage to interrogate ideas and challenge entrenched assumptions. She emphasized that platforms like Cheetah Sprint are vital for nurturing critical thinking, confidence, communication skills, civic responsibility, innovation, and leadership among young Malawians. Her remarks underscored government’s recognition that such platforms are essential for nurturing the leadership skills that will drive Malawi toward its Malawi 2063 goal of an inclusively wealthy and self‑reliant nation.
We are deeply grateful to Atlas Network for their support. Their partnership reflects a shared belief that Malawi’s future will be shaped by bold young leaders who dare to build it. Together, we are creating a movement of innovative young leaders whose impact will be felt for generations.
Cheetah Sprint 2025 was not just an event. It was a world‑class milestone for youth leadership in Malawi, an intellectual battle whose clash of ideas and dialogue will echo into the nation’s future. It marks the beginning of a journey from ideas to policy impact.
